Handbag

Hello everyone!

It has been a long time since I wrote my last blogpost and my mission to write on my blog during my summer holiday has rather failed. But today I was looking for some fashion blogs and I found an article in the Telegraph about the top 10 must read fashion blogs on the internet.http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/news-features/TMG9596830/Top-10-must-read-fashion-and-style-blogs.html
One of the blogs on the list was called hypebeast and the picture they used was this one:
This picture has inspired me to do a similar shoot and make it a "What's in my Bag" blogpost.
I have seen many pictures like this one and I thought it would be fun to make my own. So here is my "what's in my bag" post.

This is the content of my bag.

From left to right I have:

My purse- It is a neon pink colour and I love it to bits. (I AM)

My phone - Samsung Galaxy S Plus and I love it to bits as well.

My Ipod - IPod Classic and I also love it to bits again.

Lip balm #1 - I always have multiple lip balms on me. This one smells like cherries.

Perfume - This is my summer scent Heat Rush by Beyonce.

Blotting papers - I get an oily nose sometimes so I use these to get rid of it (Essence cosmetics)

Deodorant - Pretty self explanatory. To get rid of the smells.

THE little blue pouch - My monthly products.

My earphones - For listening to music or watching Youtube in public places these are essential (SONY)

Gum - For minty fresh breath.

A Mirror - For looking at my makeup to see if it has smudged or anything of that nature.

Liqorice mints - Being Dutch almost forces me to like liqorice and these mints are heavenly.

Lipbalm #2 - A different kind of lip balm than the first one. In a pot and it smells like Lime & Ginger (H&M)

A Hairtye - to get my hair out of my face.

A nail file - If I dont have one in my bag or in close proximity when I have a broken nail or anything I get really annoyed.

My keys - House key. Bike key (which was stolen today so no point in having that one). And my locker key.

Make-up Remover wipes - Very useful for this time of year when it rains everyday and you use the bike to get to school. (Sephora)

Sunglasses - For the very rare sunny day. I just love these. (Primark)

Hope you enjoyed my Whats in my bag blog.

Rainbow

As I already said I get bored really easily and very often so I try to find things to do. And Pinterest is one of my favourite places on the internet to look for crafts etc. I love baking and when I saw dozens of Pins with rainbow cakes I decided to make one of my own but with a twist.

I looked around my baking drawer and found a cupcake pan for small cupcakes and as an experiment I thought why not use this and make a rainbow cupcake. As you can tell small cupcakes aren't really that filling so I made Rainbow Cupcake Kebabs.

The Recipe
Although I halved the recipe for the experiment the ingredients should be enough for 5 kebabs.

Cupcakes
160g Butter (room temperature)
160g sugar
3tbs milk (add more if necesarry)
2 eggs
160g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
few drops of vanilla extract
foodcolouring (I used red, blue, yellow)
cupcake tin 2.5 cm

Icing (optional)
icing sugar (add as much as you like)
few drops of water
few drops vanilla extract

Preheat your oven to 170 *C

  • Mix the butter, sugar and milk in a bowl until it is light and fluffy.
  • Beat the eggs in a seperate bowl and add that and the vanilla extract to the mixture and mix it through.
  • Next, add the flour and baking powder and keep mixing the mixture until it is smooth.
Now for the fun part. You will need three smaller bowls for this part.
  • Use a spoon to scoop about 2 spoonfuls into a bowl.
Now I suggest you use gloves as this can get very messy.
  • Add one colour to the cupcake batter.
I suggest using small amounts of foodcolouring until you get your desired colour, also the colouring can affect the taste if too much is used.
  • Mix the batter and colouring and put the mixture into the cupcake pan.
  • Blend colours to create new ones and repeat the process.
I rinsed the bowls in between uses.
  • Now it should look something like this.

  • Put the cupcakes into the oven for about 15 minutes.
I reccomend keeping a close eye on the cupcakes as they are smaller than a regular cupcake they can burn faster.

In the oven...

  • Take the cupcakes out when you can insert a knife into the cupcakes and it comes out clean.
  • Let the cupcakes cool on a cooling rack.
  • Now you can start on the icing. Take a bowl and add a little bit of icing sugar, add a few drops of water and vanilla extract and mix the icing. Repeat the process until you have the desired amount. Add more water or icing sugar if the mixture isn't consistant enough . The icing should just dribble of your spoon.
Cooling down.

  • Take the cupcakes out of their cases and cut of the top of so that you have a straight line.
  • Take a kebab stick and add the cupcakes in order of the rainbow.  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet. Whilst adding a little bit of icing inbetween layers.
  • Put the kebabs on a plate and Voila, Rainbow Cupcake Kebabs.

I hope you enjoyed the recipe!

Introduction

Well hello there reader!

As this is my first blog post, I thought I would tell you a little bit about me.
My name is Isabel and i am 16 years old. And as of this Wednesday my Summer holiday has started and being quite impatient I get bored quite easily, so why not start a blog.

Here are some random facts for you all:

1. I have a cat called Pink (because she is grey) and she had 3     kittens in May.
2. I live in Holland.
3. I have been an expat most of my life, living in Asia and Africa.
4. I am a half-blood (though sadly not magical), half British and half Dutch.
5. I love food!
6. I have an unhealthy relationship with Youtube.
7. I love my bed too much.

That's all for now,

Belle Bisous
